Amy Schisler Wins First Place for A Very Loud Christmas, Proving Being Different Can Save the Day

The children’s book, which explores acceptance, friendship, and prayer, earned First Place recognition from BooksShelf

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Author Amy Schisler is celebrating a new literary honor after her children’s book, A Very Loud Christmas, was named a First Place winner in the BooksShelf July 2026 Awards. The award recognizes Schisler’s heartwarming story about a family whose differences set them apart in their quiet mountain village, and those same differences ultimately help save the day.

A Very Loud Christmas introduces readers to Crash, Belle, Carol, Thor, and Joy, the Loud children. The siblings love to laugh, sing, and enjoy life loudly, but the other families in their quiet mountain village do not understand them. Because of their differences, the other children are not allowed to play with the Loud children.

However, everything changes one Christmas when little Johnny Thompson gets lost in the woods. The village must then rely on the Loud family to help bring him home. Through its lovable and relatable characters, A Very Loud Christmas delivers lessons about acceptance, friendship, and prayer.

“I wrote this book to teach others about being themselves. So many times we are taught that in order to be accepted we must change who we are, and that is not true. A Very Loud Christmas teaches children the value of being themselves,” notes Schisler.

Schisler is currently working on another book with Emily called Tucker, the Happy Dog, which introduces readers to Tucker, an amazing dog who meets a new baby being brought home to the family for the first time.

“My stories tackle real-life issues for parents to share and discuss with their children in a fun yet meaningful way,” says Schisler. “Tucker, the Happy Dog is a situation many families deal with. Through creativity and humor, I show parents that introducing a new baby to the family pet can be fun and easy.”

Schisler has another book coming out this October titled Limestone and Lace, which is the latest installment in the award-winning Buffalo Springs series. This romantic suspense is on pre-sale now.

“I am excited to release Limestone and Lace. Buffalo Springs is a place of family, faith, and refuge. Serena Blake is returning to Buffalo Springs to start over, but her past won’t leave her alone in this action-packed story,” Schisler says.
