Corgan, a leading global architecture and design firm, has welcomed Duda|Paine Architects, an internationally recognized architecture practice based in Durham, North Carolina, to the firm. The addition of Duda|Paine establishes Corgan in Durham and the Research Triangle, one of the nation’s leading centers for innovation, higher education and research. Further, it brings a highly regarded team of architects and designers whose work, reputation, and approach complement and strengthen Corgan’s broader design practice.
“Duda|Paine and Corgan have known and worked alongside one another for years, and there is a strong natural alignment between our firms,” said Scott Ruch, Corgan’s CEO. “Their recognized expertise, exceptional design talent, and deep client relationships strengthen key areas of our practice including office and higher education while expanding our presence in a strategically important market.”
Founded in 1997 by Turan Duda, FAIA, and Jeffrey Paine, FAIA (retired 2025), Duda|Paine has built a reputation for thoughtful design, strong client partnerships, and an ideas-driven approach to architecture. The firm has an internationally recognized portfolio spanning commercial office, higher education, research, and wellness-focused environments, with work for leading corporations, academic institutions, and research organizations across the United States and internationally.
Turan Duda, founding principal and design partner at Duda|Paine stated, “Our goal has always been to design buildings that positively impact people and advance the missions of the organizations they serve. Joining Corgan gives our team even broader opportunities to do that with access to expanded creative, technical, and corporate resources while opening opportunities to collaborate across a broader range of projects, clients, markets, and geographies. Just as importantly, this partnership creates the opportunity for long-term growth while preserving the design culture, creativity, and client focus that have made Duda|Paine successful for nearly three decades.”
The addition of Duda|Paine represents another step in Corgan’s continued growth, bringing together two firms with a shared belief that great design is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and a deep understanding of the people and organizations it serves.
“Corgan and Duda|Paine have pursued work together for many years and personally, having worked alongside Turan and Jeff since meeting them a decade ago, I am excited to see the impact our firms will have together,” said Lindsay Wilson, president of Corgan. “Our shared commitment to collaboration, curiosity, and design quality will strengthen our firm and our pursuit of client excellence.”
Corgan is ranked the No. 4 architecture firm by Architectural Record and Building Design + Construction and it serves clients across aviation and transportation, commercial, cultural, data centers, education, health, hospitality and retail, mixed-use, multifamily residential, office, and workplace markets.
