AUSTIN, TX, UNITED STATES, September 30, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Reader Views is now accepting entries for the 2026-2027 Reader Views Non-Fiction Awards, the first awards program in the company’s history devoted entirely to non-fiction.
For years, non-fiction titles competed in a single Literary Awards program alongside novels, poetry, and children’s books. Starting with the 2026 cycle, Reader Views split the awards into two separate programs, one for Fiction and one for Non-Fiction, each with its own entry window, review timeline, and judging.
“A memoir, a business book, and a work of history each ask something different of a reader, and they deserve to be judged on their own terms,” said Sheri Hoyte and Susan Violante, Managing Editors of Reader Views. “Giving non-fiction its own program lets our reviewers focus on what these authors set out to do and how well they did it.”
Every entry receives a full professional review and is scored with a 20-point evaluation built specifically for non-fiction. The criteria look at clarity of purpose, credibility and research, insight, structure, connection with readers, and the practical value a book offers its audience.
Reviews are published across Reader Views websites and shared through its social channels, with features on platforms such as Goodreads and BookBub when available. Each book also receives a one-week spot in the Author Showcase and a mention in the newsletter’s recent reviews section. All entries are eligible for finalist and winner recognition, and Gold, Silver, and Bronze Grand Prize honors include cash awards.
The program is open to independent, small press, and self-published authors. It offers 26 categories aligned with BISAC classifications, including memoir and biography, history, true crime, business, self-help, science, health and fitness, religion and spirituality, travel and nature, humor, and writing and publishing. Every entry also receives complimentary Regional and Global category consideration. Children’s non-fiction titles are entered through the Fiction Awards under the age-based children’s categories.

KEY DATES
Entries opened September 1, 2026, and close March 31, 2027, with Early Bird pricing available through December 31, 2026. Winners will be announced in late May 2027.
